Sarah was related thur her mother, Joanna Goffe, to Thomas Goffee, Deputy Governor of the Ma ssachusetts Bay Colony, prior to actual settlement. Thomas Goffe must have been a man of weal th and position and evidently spent much money and time in the colony's behalf.
