Sarah was the third of four children born between 1639 and 1647.

SAMUEL2 RIDER (SAMUEL1)1 was born in All Saints Parish, Northampton, England, and died 18 Jul 1715 in Plymouth. [1]

He married (1) SARAH BARTLETT 23 Dec 1656 in Plymouth, Massachusetts2, daughter of ROBERT BARTLETT and MARY WARREN. She was born Abt. 1636.

Child of SAMUEL RIDER and SARAH BARTLETT is:

• Samuel Rider b. 18 Nov 1657 Plymouth. It has been believed that this was the Samuel who married Lydia Tilden, but the record is clear that Lydia was second wife of Samuel Sr. There is no further record of this Samuel.[3]
• Mercy Rider was named in her father's 1714 will. "...Daughter Mercy I have done Competently for them in my life time"[3]
• John Rider, b. Abt. 1664, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Also named in his father's will as "I have done Competently for them in my life time"[3]

He married (2) LYDIA TILDEN 14 Jun 1680 in Taunton, daughter of THOMAS TILDEN and ELIZABETH BOURNE.
