Will dated 17 March, 1713-14: I, Sarah Wadsworth, doe make this my last will and testament: I give and bequeath all my Old England money, whether silver or gold, unto my 8 children, viz., to Samuel, to John, to William, to Nathaniel, to James, to Thomas, to Hezekiah, and to Sarah Root, to be equally divided between them my sd. 8 children. My will is, my just debts being paid, that my two youngest sons, Thomas and Hezekiah, have their portions made up to them according to my deceased husband's last will. For the remaining part of my estate my will is it be divided into two equal parts, the one of which, that is to say, the one-half of my remaining estate when the said money is divided as aforesd., my just debts paid and my two younger sons have had their portions made up to them as abovesd., I give unto my two youngest sons, Thomas Wadsworth and Hezekiah Wadsworth, which I give to them as a recompense to them for their care of me in my old age, and as for the other equal part of my estate, I give it unto my sons, Samuel Wadsworth, John Wadsworth, William Wadsworth, Nathaniel Wadsworth, James Wadsworth, and to my daughter Sarah Root, to be equally divided between them. My will is that my said daughter Sarah Root shall have all my wearing cloths, both woolen and linnen, over and beside what is abovementioned, not to be accounted as part of the abovesd. gift. I do make my son Samuel Wadsworth sole executor.
