About Sarah Belle “Blondie” Staten
Sara Belle “Blondie” Staten, 89, of Eminence, died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at the Masonic Home, Shelbyville. She was the daughter of the late Charles Robert and Mary Lee Hancock Mitchell, and a member of the Eminence United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four daughters: Mary Jane Batterton, Mrs. Herbert (Brenda) McCoun, Jr., Mrs. Bobby G. (Martha Ann) Powell and Mrs. Robert (Denise) King, all of Shelbyville; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Wilson Staten, and one sister and one brother.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 2nd at the Eminence United Methodist Church. Rev. Garry Polston, Pastor of the Eminence United Methodist Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Jesse Baxter, Chaplain of the Old Masons Home. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.
