About Sarah Sully
Sarah Annis was born 1779 in England, she married 1st with LAWRENCE SULLY, son of Matthew Sully and Sarah Chester on Dec. 31, 1793 in Richmond, Virginia. He was born Dec. 28, 1769 in Kilkenny, Ireland and migrated with his family to America. He died 1804 and his widow married 2nd, in 1805, with his younger brother THOMAS SULLY. He was born June 10, 1783 in Horncastle, England. She died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 25, 1769; he died there Nov. 5, 1872. Both buried at Laural Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Children by Lawrence: Sarah Chester (10/1/1796-12/15/1858), Elizabeth Chester (1/7/1799-10/13/1821), and Mary Chester (9/18/1802; m. John Neagle 5/28/1826; she died 3/4/1845).
Children by Thomas: Jane Chester (5/7/1806-5/1814), Jane Cooper (1/14/1807; m. 2/16/1833 William Henry Westray Darley; she d. 3/3/1877), Thomas Sully Jr. (4/29/1809-1/1810), Thomas Wilcocks (1/2/1811-4/18/1847), Blanche (8/13/1814-4/30/1898), Ellen Oldmixon (1/22/1816; m. 11/8/1838 John Hill Wheeler; she d. 8/6/1896), Rosalie Kemble (6/3/1818-7/8/1847), Alfred (5/22/1820-4/27/1879), and Virginia Isabella (4/22/1824-8/22/1825).
