On January 8, 1856 Nancy Tyler and Joannah Brown both of Highland County Ohio on behalf of themselves and their brother, Samuel Tyler of Boone County Indiana, said to be the only surviving children of the veteran and his widow filed for the pension due the widow. In 1854, Ann Dormire, niece of Sarah Tyler, the widow, was living in Preble County Ohio and was then aged 79 years. The names of her parents are not shown.
