Seth Chase, son of Walter Chase and Deliverance (Simmons) Chase, was born on 4 Oct. 1711 at Freetown, Bristol County, Massachusetts Bay Colony.[1][2]
He married Abigail Briggs, after their marriage intentions were published on 2 Feb. 1738 at Freetown.[3] They had 4 children, then she died in 1748.
He then married Phillippa (Strange) Paine in 1752, widow of John Paine and daughter of Lot and Hannah (Hathaway) Strange. Their marriage intentions were published on 7 Nov. 1751 at Freetown[4] and the marriage was 16 Nov. 1752 at Rhode Island, Martin Howard, Justice performed the service.[5][6]
Seth died in 1768, after which his widow married John Crandon.
