Seth French was born on 23 March 1713 at Berkley. He was the son of Joseph French and Sarah.

Seth French married Phebe Walker, daughter of Nathan Walker and Abigail Richmond, on 17 December 1741 at Dighton.

Seth French died on 9 June 1756 at Berkley at age 43.
