About Sgt. Timothy Olmsted Sr.

Woodbridge's Rgt, stationed at Cambridge. Battle of Bunker Hill. Aug at Ticonderoga and Fort Edward as Corp in Mamilton's Co of Brewer's Rgt. Feb 1777 at Brookfield in 1st Co of Matross (Artillery), enlisted for 3 yrs Capt Noah Nichol's Co Gen Knox's Artillery, in which commissioned 2nd Lt 11 Jun 1778. Feb 1779 command at Brookfield guarding military stores. Resigned soon after. Timothy was a Sargent in the Revolutionary War.

Sergeant Timothy Olmstead served in the American Revolution as a private in Capt. Timothy Barron's Company in Bedel's New Hampshire Regiment, on an adjunct to the Connecticut River. He enlisted April 15th, 1778 (year uncertain], and served until April 1, 1779. Military records also show that he served as a corporal in Capt. Nehemiah Lovewell's Company, col. Bedel's Regiment, for an expedition to Canada. He was appointed January 23 and dischareg Marcch 31st [years not given]. He was a Sergeant when discharged.
