4th son of Meshack Hurst- the first two sons were with first wife (unknown name), then there were three sons with Meshack's 2nd wife, Mary Garret.

Meshach [Meshack Hurst] owned between 450 and 500 acres by the end of 1835. All of the above property was in close proximity to his original farm at the head of Katy Lick.

Two of Meshach's sons, Shadrach and Bennett, married and settled in the vicinity of their father. The other son, Abednego, did not remain in the area, having moved on to Iowa.

No records of Meshach or his wife's death or place of burial were found. Deaths were not recorded in Harrison County until 1853.

She was born December 17, 1801 in York County,Pennsylvania, and died September 30, 1878 in Harrison County,West Virginia.
