Shaun Lipshitz (1976 - 2012)

Brief overview:

Shaun (37), an IT Specialist, was shot dead in front of his 12 year-old son, when two armed men gained access through a window into his home in Bedfordview, at around 21h00, on 28th January 2013.

When the gunmen entered where Shaun and his young son were sitting, then men opened fire, but he managed to draw his gun and shoot back, killing both of the perpetrators.

Shaun died at the scene.

  • A suspect was arrested seven months after Lipshitz was killed during an armed robbery.
  • Provincial police spokesman Lungelo Dlamini said investigators following a tip-off found three men in Alexandra in possession of property taken from Lipshitz’s home.
