Shirley (38), was murdered at her North Riding smallholding in Randburg on 20th August 2005.

Her badly decomposed body was discovered in a hole in the ground at the Nkwe-Bosveldoord near Thabazimbi, Her limbs were removed and her body was buried at the resort, after she had disappeared without a trace, after a visit with Nass and Matya to a bar near her home in Northriding, Randburg.

  • On 30th July 2007, two perpetrators were found guilty of her murder in the Johannesburg High Court.
  • "Judge Majake Mabesele found Wayne Nass (36), a convicted murderer out on parole, and Boyce Matya (50), of King William's Town, both guilty in the Johannesburg High Court yesterday of the murder of Ms. Shirley van Rensburg on August 20, 2005."
  • Stefanie Crause (32), also of East London, is being charged as an accomplice in the murder.
