After graduating from West Mystic schools and Mystic Valley Institute, he entered the employ of the Singer Sewing Machine Co. as a salesman in the Mystic territory. Later he went to Norwalk, Ct with that Company for four years, followed by 7.5 years in Norwich. He later went to Rochester , NY as manager of a large territory until July 1896 (age 39). In 1898 he went to work with the piano manufacturer, Foster-Armstrong Co. That company controlled the Haynes Bros., Marshall and Wendell, Brewster Piano Co., Foster & Co., and the Armstrong Piano Co. Later he went with the William Knabe Co. of Baltimore and the Chickering & Sons of Boston who formed the American Piano Company.He then spent ten years with the American Piano Co. He retired to West Mystic to become involved in the Real Estate development business. (info from obit in sources)
