This is an excerpt from the town of Rutland Historical Documents page 133 about Simon Jr. :

Simon Davis, Junior, with his wife Hannah, lived at House Lot No. 13, laid out to Graves and Barnard. They were parents of Elizabeth, born Jan. 1735 ; Hannah, March. 1736 ; Miriam, June, 1738 ; David, Jan., 1740; second Elizabeth, June, 1742; Simon, April, 1744; Mercy, June, 1745; second Simon, Aug. 1747; " Isaac, Feb., 1749; Samuel, June, 1751; John, Sept.,1752. Mr. and Mrs. Davis were respectable and useful members of society. Mr. Davis on April 9, 1754, when at work on a frame for Mr. Smith of Holden, (who lost his house by fire,) observed he felt faint, — fell and died. Widow Davis died with the small pox, Jan. 7, 1760, and was buried on the farm. Marriages, of Simon's children. " Deacon Isaac Davis was born in Rutland, in this County. His father Simon Davis, was a son of Simon Davis, who removed from Concord to Rutland. Rev. Joseph Davis the first minister of Holden, was another son of Simon Davis, senior.

Sept. 30, 1720, the settlers chose a committee to manage the affairs in covering and enclosing the meeting- house, Samuel Wright, Simon Davis, and Joseph Stevens were chosen said committee.

Dolor Davis A Sketch of his Life With A Record of his Earlier Descendants by Horace Davis page 42 Under the heading of Children of Simon and Dorthy (Heald) Davis. Item 1. Simon, born May 17, 1714; lived in Rutland; married Hannah Gates, of Stow. He died April 9, 1754; she died January 7, 1761, aged 46; 11 children. Then Horace declares that this is his lineage.
