"SIMON HARRELL SR(~1750-~1835) was the elder son of THOMAS HARRELL, who died testate in Edgecombe Co NC 1763 after moving there from Bertie Co NC ~1759.SIMON HARRELL married SILVA before 1775, served in Revolutionary War <ref>"United States Revolutionary War Pension Payment Ledgers, 1818-1872," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q24Q-LR94 : accessed 1 June 2017), Harrell, 04 Mar 1831; citing North Carolina, United States, NARA microfilm publication T718 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1962), roll 8; FHL microfilm 1,319,388.</ref>, <ref>United States War of 1812 Index to Service Records, 1812-1815, database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q29K-HWSM : 11 March 2016), Simeon Harrell, 1812-1815; citing NARA microfilm publication M602 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.); roll 92; FHL microfilm 882,610.</ref>, had up to seven sonsand two daughters on 1790 Edgecombe Co census. He sold out in Edgecombe and moved to Warren Co GA 1798-1800. He and his immediate family lived in the northwest corner of Warren Co on the Ogeechee River, where he had 486 acres and 8 slaves on the 1805 tax list.
