Married second wife: Mary Mullen on 23 Aug 1866 in Adams County, IL
A Well Known Resident of Golden Passes Away-He will be Laid to Rest at Coatsburg Golden, IL., Nov. 30. - Simon Wartick passed away at 1 p.m., yesterday after a long illness of dropsy, at his late residence in York Neck. He was born in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, June 12, 1842, and came to this county with his parents in the year 1855. He was married to Miss Pitman from Loraine who died soon after and left one girl, who died two years ago. Later he married Mary Mullen in the year 1866, and out of this union were born twelve children. Two died in infancy, which leaves ten to mourn his loss, besides the widow. Four are boys and six are girls; all of this county. Three brothers in Kansas and one sister in Missouri also survive. The funeral will take place at the residence and will be preached by Rev. H. Strickler of Loraine at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The remains will be laid to rest in the Coatsburg cemetery.
