About Sir Charles Munro of Foulis, 9th Baronet

9th Baronet of Foulis Castle, Evanton, and Ardullie Lodge, Ross-shire. 27th Baron of Foulis.

Educated in Edinburgh.

Served with the Duke of Wellington from 1811 to the end of the war in Portugal, Spain and France.

He commanded a division of the Columbian Army under Simon Bolivar at the of Aquotmar when the Spanish Army surrendered to the Liberator.

Sir Charles succeeded to the title in 1848 on the death of his kinsman,Sir Hugh Munro, the 8th Baronet.

J.P and D.L. for Ross-shire.

In 1878 he was living at Foulis Castle.
