Biography Surrendering to a brother a post in the customs1 which was incompatible with a seat in the House of Commons, Burrard was returned for Lymington on his own interest, which he successfully defended against an attack by Charles Powlett, 3rd Duke of Bolton. Voting with the Administration in every recorded division, he received a secret service pension of £500, which he exchanged in 1754 for a post in the New Forest.2
He died 12 Apr. 1791.
