• 'Sir Walter Rice was born circa 1562.1 He was the son of Griffith Rice and Elinor Jones.2 He married Elizabeth Mansel, daughter of Sir Edward Mansel and Lady Jane Somerset.1 He died circa 1636.1
• 'Sir Walter Rice held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Carmarthenshire from 1584 to 1585.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Carmarthenshire in 1586.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Carmarthen in 1601.1 He was invested as a Knight in 1603.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Carmarthen between 1604 and 1611.1 He lived at Newton, Carmarthenshire, Wales.1
