Anna Marylis or Marylisin Lässle was born in Germany, (perhaps Halle), a daughter of Peter and Anna Catarina Lässle, she sailed to America with her family on the ship Allen, arriving at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 11, 1729. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren and lived at the Ephrata Cloister as one of the "sisters"; her ecclesiastical name was Sister Rosa. Anna Marylis, Marylisin or Sister Rosa died on December 13, 1747 and is most likely buried at the "God's Acre" cemetery there.
