Solomon Ash

Solomon Ash's baptismal details are missing - the relevant pages in the records of St Edward the Confessor's in Leek (which most of the wider family used for major events over the centuries) are faded over the period of his baptism, at least in all online reproductions. The identity of his father was confirmed in the older Solomon Ash's will.

The Leek-Buxton road (A53) swoops down into a deep valley just north of Leek. The valley at that point is known as Solomon's Hollow (and Solomon's Wood runs through it), which is named after this Solomon Ash or his father both of whom were farmers in Tittesworth:
