Solomon Fordyce Frye

Solomon Frye was part of the Union army, he served in the 71st Regiment,Pennsylvania. Company H during the civil war.

When Solomon Fordyce FRYE was born on July 22, 1844, in Greene, Pennsylvania, his father, David, was 27 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 18. He was their first child. He married his first wife, Lucy Leonard, on March 3, 1867, in Michigan. On October 20, 1890, he married his second wife, Minnie M. LAWRENCE, in Park, Michigan. He died on July 9, 1938, in Jackson, Michigan, at the impressive age of 93, and was buried in Shepherd, Michigan.

In civilian life he worked as a farm laborer.
