About Sophia Block
Update with data from Ancestry researcher G. Rosenberg indicating Heinrich Block was married to a Sophie Furth, born in Bohemia in October 1833. She died as a widow on December 14, 1912 and is buried in Afton, St. Louis County, MO. Her parents were also born in Bohemia. She arrived at New Orleans on October 21, 1852 accompanied by Lambert Furth age 45 and Fanny Furth age 18 on the ship Louisiana. This is the same ship the Block family arrived on several years earlier also at New Orleans.
In the 1909 St. Louis City Directory she is listed as the widow of Henry Block and lived at 3126 Brantner Place.
The Furth family and the Block family and the Schwarzkopf family were interrelated many ways in Bohemia.
