About Sophia Thompson
I've seen her name presented in many different ways Seviah, Serviah, Servia, Sofia, and Sophia. I think the best visual I see of the name is on Mary Pitts death, which clearly lists it as Sophia. It appears as Sofia in Samual's death record. "vi", "fi", "phi" all make the same approximate sound. Other instances that list Sifice, Sifesi appear to be just transcription errors. This FamilySearch entry says she married #2 Alvia Barnes on 20 Feb 1834.
