About Stan Jacobson
JACOBSON, Stanley David - June 23, 1930 to December 1st, 2015. Stan left this planet at 8:05 a.m. at North York General Hospital with Frances (Wisleski) his devoted wife of 45 years at his side. Pre deceased by his sister Helen, his mother Sadie and father Joseph. He leaves his loving sister-in-law Grace Lindover (Tom Newman) nephews Jamie Lindover (Laura), David Lindover (Ellen) and grand nephews Sean and Cory Lindover and grand niece Kate. He will be sorley missed by his very best friend, his cat Ralphie. Spanning a career of over fifty years. Stan was an innovative and prolific television producer, director and writer, both in Canada and the U.S. From the Wayne and Shuster Comedy Hour to the Johnny Cash Show, a documentary on the Battle of Britain to the celebrated Skydome opening ceremony as well as the opening ceremonies of the Calgary Olympics is just a small example of his prodigious body of work. Stan's proudest achievement was a theatrical first for Canada, when he negotiated the rights to produce the comedy hit, Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter in Toronto while it was still running on Broadway. Interment in the Baron de Hirsh Cemetery, Congregation Zichron Kedoshim Section, in Montreal.
