STANLEY L. REED SR. age 61 of 3498 Reasor Hollow Rd., Big Flats suddenly Monday, April 22, 1985 at home. Friends may call at the Hills Funeral Home, Big Flats, Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held 8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service to be held Friday 11 am at the funeral home with the Rev. Walter Griffith officiating. Burial, Rural Home Cemetery, Big Flats. Survived by wife, M. Sophia Reed; 2 daughters, Diana Arnold of Erin, Amy Jo Markle of Big Flats; 1 son, Stanley L. Reed, Jr. of Big Flats; sister, Arlene Schoonover of Addison; 3 brothers, Wesley Reed of Sayre, Pa, Roland Reed of Mayfield KY, Terry Reed of Burdett; 9 grandchildren; several niece3s and nephews. He was born March 11, 1924 in Elmira, the son of Colie and Hazel Wood Reed. He married the former M. Sophia Wing. He was retired from the Corning Glass Works after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Big Flats Lodge F. & A.M. #378, the Cameron Mills Eastern Star and the Disabled American Veterans U.S. Jack Swan #13, Horseheads. –Elmira Star-Gazette 4/24/1985
