Stephanus Werner (1940 - 2002)
Brief overview:
Stephanus (62), a farmer from Rustenburg was attacked and killed on his farm on Friday afternoon 12th July 2002, by two of his workers.
Capt. David Serepa, spokesperson for the police in the North West, says a third worker heard a scream. When he went to check, he saw the suspects dragging Werner, who is from Germany, out of the house. When they saw him, they assaulted him and locked him in an outdoor toilet. Werner was apparently very seriously assaulted after which they fled with household goods worth around R15 000. The witness was able to escape and called the Krugersdorp police from Wener's neighbour. When the police got there, Werner was already dead. According to Serepa, Werner had a large open wound on the back of his neck.
