Biography

Stephen Chipman and his sister Lydia Chipman were twins born 9 June 1708. They were the children of John Chipman and his first wife, Mary (Skiffe) Chipman.

In 1725 at Newport, Rhode Island, their father, John Chipman, married his third wife, the widow Hannah (Hoxie) (Griffin) Case of Rhode Island. Hannah Hoxie's first husband was a Mr. Griffin with whom she had one daughter. In 1728, that daughter married Stephen Chipman. Stephen died in the West Indies.

According to the Memoir of Handley Chipman, Stephen Chipman and his wife left no children.
