A Patriot of the American Revolution for PENNSYLVANIA with the rank of PRIVATE. DAR Ancestor # A023607
Tradition/Misc.: Jean Cochran (1743-1872 BB Pg 400, 419)who married Robert McFarland was the daughter of Stephen Cochran (1732-1790 BB Pg 400) and his wife Ann (1741-1783) This makes Stephen age 11 and Ann age 2 at Jean Cochran's birth an obvious problem here. Jean Cochran's dates are verified in the Church-Hill Cem. near Mercersburg, Franklin Co., PA, USA, her tombstone reads:
Robert McFarland
1740-1823
and his wife
Jean Cochran
1743-1827. *1
