Brief overview:

Stephen Coetzee Jnr (22), was shot in the face, outside the family home in Amanzimtoti, KZN, on 11th May 2012. Stephen and his fiancée had just arrived back home from shopping, and unloading the groceries, when he was confronted by an armed man outside the garage who indicated to him to keep quiet. More men came running up the driveway, attempting to hijack the car. Stephen's father, Stephen Snr, identified four suspects in a line-up. Nkululeko Mkhize, 23, Nhlakanipho Sikhonde, 25, and Mxolisi Zwane, 25, all from uMlazi, pleaded not guilty to the charges of robbery and murder. In April 2016, the three accused were found guilty of murder, as well as robbery with aggravating circumstances, and sentenced to life for Stephen's murder, and 15 years for robbery, by Acting Judge Madlala Xolo in the Durban High Court.
