"Stephen Eickhoff was born at Westphalia January 1, 1856 and passed away at his home near Loose Creek Thursday morning, June 10, 1937 at the age of 81 years. He was married more than 40 years to Miss Gertrude Kliethermes of Loose Creek and to this union were born three sons, and one daughter. They are Frank of St. Louis; Leo of Loose Creek; Otto of the family home. The daughter Ida, died at the age of seven."
1920 Census in Washington Twp, enumerated Jan 3, 1920 lists Steven (Head), 61 years, Gertrude (Wife), 50 years, Leo (Son), 19 years, Otto (Son), 9 years, and Mathilda (Adopted Daughter), 7 years.
