Stephen Ochotny

Stephen Ochotny (1912-1976) was born in Detroit, Michigan. He is the son of Anthony Ochotny and Tekla Baralkiewicz. Stephen comes from a large family including 5 sisters and 4 brothers including Salomea Ochotny, Sophia Ochotny, Anastasia Ochotny, Leonard Ochotny, Gertrude Ochotny, Aloysius Ochotny, Regina Ochotny, Chester Ochotny and Sylvester Ochotny. He married Stella Nalepka on 4 September 1937 in Detroit, Michigan. They had 3 children, Arthur, Marcella and Sandra Ochotny. Stephen worked as a Baker for a number of years. He also drove a truck for Strohs Beer Company in Detroit.

Stephen was fun-loving and had many friends. According to Stella, they had friends visitng every day during their first year of marriage. He loved music and had a large collection of records. His 8 grandchildren all enjoyed visiting Stephen, who made sure they all felt special.
