Stephen Samuel Remak (born April 18, 1821 in Poznan , March 1, 1890) is an American lawyer, US consul in Trieste.
He left for the United States in 1849 from Germany. He studied law in Philadelphia . On May 3, 1854 he became a lawyer. He dealt with, among others. Representation of citizens of different European countries in the United States. He was a member of a democratic party. He was in good relations with James Buchanan and after his election as president of the United States, Remak became an American consul in Trieste in 1858. He worked in this post until 1861. He traveled in Europe between 1863 and 1865. He wrote the book La Paix eu Amerique (Peace in America). In 1867 he returned to Philadelphia and continued to practice law.
He was the brother of Robert Remak and Gustav Remak. He did not have a family. External links
