About Steve Lynn Eickhoff

Steve Lynn Eickhoff, age 57 of Spencer, died on Tuesday, December 31, 2002, at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer.

Steve Lynn Eickhoff, the son of Edgar William and Betty Hansen Eickhoff, was born October 28, 1945, in Storm Lake. His childhood years were spent in Newell where he received his education, graduating from Newell High School.

Steve married Karen Miller on December 28, 1963, in Storm Lake. Following their marriage, he worked at Fareway in Webster City. In 1964, they moved to Storm Lake where they operated a small grocery store, and later he worked at Hygrade, now IBP. Steve farmed with his father-in-law until moving to the Spencer area to his present home in March of 1972 where he farmed and sold Pioneer Seed Corn until the time of his death. Steve received his CCA certificate for Agronomy and was a member of the Farmer's Coop Elevator Board. Steve and his son, Doug, enjoyed farming together for many years. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and he was an avid fisherman.

Steve passed away suddenly at the Spencer Municipal Hospital on Tuesday, December 31, 2002, at the age of 57. He was preceded in death by one son, Craig Steven, in 1978.

He is survived by his wife, Karen, of rural Spencer; one daughter and her husband, Annette Marie and Steve Spears, of Spencer; one son and his wife, Douglas William and Deon, of rural Spencer; three grandchildren: Meghan, Amber and Lakyn; his parents: Edgar and Betty Eickhoff of Newell; brothers and their wives: Bill and Karen Eickhoff of Orange City and Tom and LaDonna Eickhoff of Boone; one sister, Becky and her husband Loren Zoet, of Adel; his father- and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Maxine Miller of Storm Lake; other relatives and many friends. Burial was at the North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer.
