According to his death record, Stillman Clark was the son of David and Anna Clark; see below. He was born c. 1819-1820 in Hubbardston, Massachusetts and removed in 1856 to Jamaica, Vermont, where he worked as a farmer and drover (someone who drives animals).
Many birth surnames, and subsequently many maternal ancestral lines, appear for Stillman's mother in on-line trees. But as Blake notes on p. 62 of his History of Princeton, the local records are clear -- his mother was David Clark's first wife, Henry Gates' daughter Anna.
He and Miranda J. Newton married in Hubbardston on 3 November 1840.
On 2 October 1895 Stillman hanged himself in Jamaica, at the age of 75. He was listed as single, not widowed, on his death record.
Some sources list him as being born in Princeton, Massachusetts, but Blake confirms this to be untrue.
The History of Hubbardston, pp. 251-252, says Stillman "c. f. Dorchester" before marrying Miranda and having eight children in Hubbardston. This could point to him having spent time in Dorchester while a bachelor; it could also, of course, be an error.
