Susan Alcinda Bankhead was born October 17, 1918 in Lamar County, Texas, daughter of George Vernon and Zoe Anna (Nichol) Bankhead. She was known as "Sue". In Paris, Lamar County, TX, she was a graduate of Paris High School and Paris Commercial College. She worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Paris.

On January 9, 1942, Friday at 8 p.m., she married Harry E. Eubank at the home of the presiding pastor, Rev. Presley F. Herndon of First Congregational Church of Paris. They were later divorced. She married Col. Charles Wood. They became parents of Susan Ann and Charles E. Wood, Jr. In 1968, they lived in Salt Lake City, Utah.

On June 26, 1990, Sue A. (Bankhead) Eubank Wood, age 71, died in Ft. Walton Beach with burial in Beal Memorial Cemetery, Section Good Shepherd, Fort Walton Beach, Okaloosa County, Florida.

Sue Bankhead Wood, 71, died in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Tuesday, June 26, 1990.

Services will be held at the McLaughlin Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach.

Mrs. Wood was born in Paris, a daughter of Vernon and Zoe Bankhead. She married Col. Charles Wood. She worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. prior to her marriage.

Surviving are her husband; two children, Susan Rodi and Charles E. Wood, Jr.; and three sisters, Betty Robinius of Paris, Nell Gaston of Detroit and Mary Haskell of Sparks, Nev.
