Susan Pond Cockrum was born Oct. 3, 1834 in Adams County, Illinois, and passed away Jan. 19 at the age of 92 years, 3 months and 16 days. She was the daughter of Allen and Elizabeth Pond.
She was married to Henderson Boggs in 1852. Three children were born to them, Martin Boggs of Leonard, Hannah Miller of Kansas City and Elizabeth, wife of Joe Cockrum, who preceded her in death.
She was again married, to James Cockrum, in 1869. Three children were also born to them, Martha Conder of near Gibbs and Lillie Harris and Allen Cockrum of Novelty.
She also leaves two brothers and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Rogers and Douglas Pond of near Novelty and George Pond of Medford, Ore.
She first united with the Dunkard Church in early life, and later with the Christian Church at Mt. Pleasant of which she had been a true and faithful member. She was also a kind and loving friend to all who ever knew her.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Jan 27 2020, 1:32:29 UTC
