About Susan Cook

Mother of James Cook Jr. born 1806, and Anna (Cook) Hammond born 1808, and loveing Wife of James Cook Sr. The rest of Susan and James Cooks children to be listed at a later date. Cook/Hodges . Directions T24N R20W S2 N from Taneyville on CR AA 3/4 mil to Brockman Rd. Left on Brockman Rd to John Hodge Rd abt 1 1/2 mil. Left on Hodge to end abt 2 mil. Cem is small, fenced and unkept. On private property. Three graves are unmarked. According to Cook family legend, the two graves (pre-Civil War) outside the fence are those of two small black boys who drank the poisoned "scum" from some corn liquor while it was cooking. Up date on the two black boys. New headstones had been added on or viset in Oct. 2005. The cemetery has been finced in and is beeing well keep by, Oscar Nagel. who i must say he was such a pleasure to meet and viset with. Cliff Hammons.
