....John Smith father of our subject was and reared in Middle Smithfield township county and there married Louisa Arndt a of the same township They began their life upon his father's farm where they resided some years and then spent five years with our subject after which the father purchased a home Marshall's Creek in Middle Smithfield township where he died in 1862 His worthy wife long survived him passing away in 1894 at the age eighty eighty years .

They had a family of twelve six sons and six daughters all born in county with the exception of our subject is second in the order of birth....

(10) Susan born in 1848 married Andrew Emery of New Jersey and they now reside on his farm in Middle Smithfield township Monroe county Penn Their children are

5. Cleveland

(11) Anna Louisa born in 1850 is the wife of Theodore Spangenburg section foreman on the railroad at Paterson NJ and they have one child Dora ....
