Susan Jane Fletcher

8- Susannah Ransopher Fletcher was born July 14th 1843 and died May 4th 1925, aged 82 yrs. She was married to Thomas Benton Fletcher on Oct. 1864. A part of the edge of the Bible record is missing that gives the day in Oct. Aunt Susan and Uncle Benton Fletcher were house-hold names to me. My father used to work out by the month for Uncle Benton when a young man. I remember well our many visits to their home when I was a very young lad. I well remember that all the girls were at home at that time. I get my middle name from Uncle Benton. Daddy always the thought so much of them both. To this union were born five children and are as follows. • Amanda Fletcher Davis • Mary Francis Fletcher Donnell • Cora Fletcher Davis • James Fletcher • John, who died as a young man while teaching school.

I do not have the date of the death of Uncle Benton.

Aunt Susan and Uncle Benton are buried in the southeast corner of the new part of the St. Paul Cemetery with a beautiful monument and markers mark their final resting place
