One of the founders of the first Seventh Day Baptist church in Alfred, NY, according to Frank L. Greene's history.
"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 14, No 28, p 111, Dec. 17, 1857.
In Alfred, Dec. 7th, Susannah Maxson, wife of Luke Maxson, in the 65th year of her age. She was a member of the 1st Seventh-day Baptist Church of Alfred. She with her husband were among the first settlers in the town, and struggled together through all of the hardships of pioneer life. While she was ever faithful in all her domestic and social relations, she was not less so to her religious vows, which she made in early life, and though her lamp burned brightly through the many years of her pilgrimage, oil still remained in her vessel at the hour of her departure, so that by the power of a true faith she met death with composure and so fell asleep in her Redeemer.
