Susie Blanch Davis

"Akron Beacon Journal", Akron, Ohio NEW FRANKLIN - Susie Davis Nicholson, 90, passed away December 26, 2006. She was born March 31, 1916 in Blandville, W. Va. She started her career teaching in a one room schoolhouse and retired in 1975 after teaching in the Coventry School District since 1946. She was a past President of the Coventry Teachers Association and was a member of Cuyahoga Falls Portage Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. Susie enjoyed genealogy and published four books of her family's history. Susie and her husband also traveled extensively throughout the United States. Susie was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Walter. She is survived by daughter, Janet (Bill) Dando; brother Edward "Hugh" (Dorothy) Davis; grandchildren, Bridget (Gary) Jones, Meredith (Daniel) Groves, and William (Rebecca) Dando; great-grandchildren, Emily Jones, Natalie Dando, and Benjamin Groves. Private services have been held for the family. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Salem Seventh Day Baptist Cemetery Association, 171 E. Main St., Salem, WV 26426, in memory of Susie.
