Suzy (or Susy) Garrard

GEDCOM Note

Jacob Garrard, emigrated to Virginia c 1750, died 1777 during Revolutionary War in North Carolina. Said to have married Sarah Waters, daughter of John Waters and Mary Elizabeth Hack. Sarah dying in childbirth explains both no mention of her in her father's will and a granddaughter named Sarah Waters. Married to Mildred (see will) when Anthony christened.

Note: Overwharton Parish register is scrupulous in naming both mother and father of children born or baptized. Anthony noted only as baptized, son of Jacob, in transcribed version. Handwritten version, accessible only in microfiche, noted Mildred as wife in October 1756. No explicit mention of Anthony's mother, only Jacob's wife.
