Silvanus Cobb, second s. of James Cobb, Jr. and Elizabeth Hallett, b. of record Nov. 23, 1700 at Barnstable, Mass. He d. Sept. 30, 1756 at Barnstable.

On Nov. 7, 1728 at Barnstable, Mercy Baker, eldest surviving child of Nathaniel Baker and Mercy Binney, b. Feb. 4, 1706/7 at Barnstable. She d. his widow Mar. 4, 1781 at Middleboro(ugh), Mass., Æ 75. They had eight children b. of record at Barnstable.

• i. Mercy Cobb, b. Oct. 13, 1729 (bp. Apr. 29, 1733), d. at Barnstable Sept. 20, 1756 (g.s.); m. Jan. 10, 1750/1 as his 2nd wife, James Churchill.

• ii. Ebenezer Cobb, b. Aug. 13, 1731 (bp. Apr. 29, 1733), d. Aug. 20, 1811 at Middleboro(ugh), Mass.; m. by an intention pub. May 12, 1754 at Barnstable, Lydia Churchill of Middleborough, Mass. She d. Jan. 10, 1822 at Middleborough. Eight children of the family.

• iii. Silvanus Cobb, b. Feb. 18 (bp. Feb. 23), 1734/5; d. in infancy May 10, 1737.

• iv. Binney Cobb, b. Jan. 23 (bp Jan. 30), 1736/7 , d. June 28, 1817 at Woodstock, VT; m. Mar. 25, 1762 at Middleborough, Azuba Shaw.

• v. Rebecca Cobb, b. Apr. 2 (bp. Apr. 15), 1739; d. unm. Oct. 2, 1756.

• vi. Silvanus Cobb, Jr, b. July 21 (bp. July 26), 1741.

• vii. Thankful Cobb, bp. Sept. 25, 1743.
