Charles Waits had about 5 children when they were married. They had about 8 children together. Plus Dora equal 19 kids as the story goes (math is wrong 5+8+1=14 not 19 as the story goes). One of these children (Ann or Annie) married a "Gillen" from around Emerson, Iowa. His first name not known, Kids: Oral, Elton and Edna
Tabitha died when Dora was about 13 or 14. At that time Uncle William Rice took Dora in and raised her. Why he took her away from the step father is not known. Possibly to many kids to raise (about 19
