The will of John Stodder, died 1661 names children John Stodder, eldest son, other children Hannah, Daniel, Samuel, and grandchildren, children of daughter Elizabeth Low.

Death date seen as 10/08/1675 at Hingham without citation. No wife was named in John Stodder’s 1661 Will, so presumed deceased before that date.

Hannah / Anna was probably born about 1614 or earlier in England based on the birth of her first child. Her maiden name is unknown and the date of her death was not recorded in Hingham, MA records. It is believed she is the mother of all of the children born to John Stodder, Sr. She died prior to the November 20, 1661, the date of her husband's will, as she was not mentioned.

According to page 30 of "The Stoddard Family," John STODDER/ STODDARD was the first born of John and Hannah (maiden name unknown) STODDER, the first of the STODDARD family to settle in America (1638). However, records show John Jr. and other children as children of Tabitha and John Sr. in England. Very little is know about the Hannah/Anna who was apparently second wife of John Sr. She is not mentioned in John Sr.'s will.

Hannah, wife of John Sr., is not mentioned in John Sr.'s will, nor is any other wife. Hannah, wife of John Sr. is probably a nickname for Tabitha. John Jr., son of John and Tabitha, married Hannah Bryant, and they had a daughter Hannah Stodder/ Stoddard as well as as a daughter Tabitha Stoddard and a son named John Stoddard (born 1668). John Sr. was the first to settle in America, granted property in Bare Cove (now Hingham) Massachusetts in 1638. He emigrated with wife and children.
