Temperance Amanda Ransom

Temperance was educated in Nashville and family lore states that she was regarded as the most beautiful woman in Nashville.

Abstracts from Letters in Auburn University given by a friend of Patti Steagall: Temperance Peck Ransom wrote in January 1867 from Murfreesboro, Tn to Delia E. Steagall, "my own dear sister". She had not heard from Delia in 6 years.... Dr. Ransom has a brother living in Texas... "sorely flag of truce"... children were Lorena Ransom, 4 years, Walter Peck Ransom, only son, 3 years, Jessie Peck Ransom, 1 year.... She mentions sister Sarah Thomason and said Delia was in school in Nashville. Sarah has lost a baby (she lost at least 2) and had 3 children at this time.... The Christian Church is mentioned... (this would have been the Church of Christ) Temperance mentions "prevailing on brother to move up here"... (she did not approve of the family having moved to Brazil and apparently did not know that the Thomasons were thinking of doing the same.).. she mentions Mrs. Shay.
