Notice: The wives and children seen above are conflated from several families.
Samuel Thomson probably was not born 31 Dec 1691 in Blair Manor, Ayrshire, Scotland. There is no evidence for that. (See Research Notes below.) Nor are his parents known.
Samuel was living in Louisa County, Virginia at the end of his life. [1]
Samuel was married to Temperance Unknown at the time of his death. It is not known if she was the mother of his children. Some researchers say she was Temperance Yancey; however, Mary Jane Stokes pointed out that Temperance Yancey was mentioned in a deed the same day that Samuel's will was proved, making it unlikely that she was married to him. [1]
Samuel had children mentioned in his will:
Asa Thomson; David Thomson; Elizabeth Thomson;
John Thomson;
Joseph Thomson;
Robert Thomson;
Samuel Thomson;
Sarah (Thomson) Kembrow;
Thomas Thomson;
William Thomson.[1]
Samuel died between 16 June 1753, when his will was written, and 28 August 1753, when it was proved. [1]
