About Temple Fortherly Whitfield
- Notes: The son of Henry & Hester Whitfield, married to Elizabeth Osbourne. He was left a considerable estate by his uncle John Fotherley in his 1702 will, including the Manor of Rickmansworth, on the condition that he changed his name to include "Fotherley". Henceforth he was known as Temple Fotherley Whitfield.
Temple and Elizabeth appear to have had no children because on his death in 1730, the major part of John Fotherley's estate transferred to his brother, Henry Fotherley Whitfield, in accordance with John Fotherley's will.
