About Terence F Deane
Terence Deane Obituary
Terence F. Deane
Terence F. Deane, 68, of London, England, left town early August 12, 2009.
Terry immigrated to America from England in his teens when he found out he couldn"t be King. After a tour of duty in the U.S. Air Force, Terry moved to Los Angeles and dove head first into show business, where he managed musicians and stars like The Mamas and the Papas, Louis Gossett, Rob Reiner, Tuesday Weld, and Albert Brooks. Terry also produced dozens of Hollywood movies, including I Never Promised You a Rose Garden, which was nominated for four Academy Awards.
Terry married his wife, Julie, in 1976 and moved to Akron shortly thereafter, where he became Senior Vice-President of Mohawk Rubber and later opened and managed several local nightspots like The Highland Theater and Shots. Terry was a member of Portage Country Club and the Rolling Rock Club in Ligonier, Pa.
He enjoyed a good glass of wine and laughs with his friends, and his life had no shortage of either.
Terry was preceded in death by his son, Jason, a highly decorated soldier in the United States Army who died in Iraq after serving his country for nearly 20 years during his third tour of duty in May 2008, and his nephew, Stephen, who died in February 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Terry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Julie; his son, Mitchell; his brother, Jeffrey; lifelong friend, Tisa Farrow, Jason"s mother; daughter-in-law, Judi; his grandchildren, Kelly, Katie, and Brenden; his brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Jane Comunale; his brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Ellen Tobin; his niece, Amanda Comunale; his nephew, John Comunale; and countless friends and family, including Julie Cantley and J.R. Fowler.
Terry died of the trendiest disease out right now -- cancer -- joining Farrah Fawcett, Paul Newman, and Sydney Pollack to name a few. Terry was diagnosed in early June and fought the disease with his trademark humor, wit, and easygoing attitude. Well, his humor and wit at least.
